Chaves Redencion 229 Kickstop Micarta
Chaves Ultramar knives from Ramon Chavez are manufactured in China by Reate Knives and aimed to bring his amazing knives to a wider audience base. There are a variety of different models including this production 229 version of his famous Redencion knife that is iconic in the knife world. Each feels like one of his mid-tech offerings and features his signature titanium skull pocket clip. They are perfect for everyday carry and Reate has managed to recreate Ramon's incredible action perfectly so they flick open just like the real thing!
This Redencion 229 is on par with the Chaves American Made 228 in terms of fit, finish, ergonomics, and build quality. It gets the size absolutely spot on and the flipping action with the Kickstop mechanism is on point. The compound drop point blade is paired with a squared-off stonewashed titanium handle that is designed for hard use. The frame lock features a replaceable lockbar insert and the knife is complete with a partial titanium backspacer. If Ramon Chavez has been on your wish list for a while but remains outside your price point, then check out a Chaves Ultramar Lee Williams Kickstop model. For the money, there isn't a better mid-tech type production flipper that we can think of.
