Fox knives Core Black
- Blade Material: N690
A versatile design from Jesper Voxnaes, the Core by Fox Knives gets the job done with a broad 3.15" drop point blade of premium N690 steel. The satin-finished blade features dual opening options with either the blade cutout or flipper tab.
When open, the flipper tab lines up with a groove for the index finger, providing protection to keep your hand from sliding forward. At the same time, a liner lock keeps the blade from closing when you don't want it to.
The black FRN handles sport a geometric pattern and provides traction, while a black backspacer adds contrasting texture. A deep-carry wire clip can be set up for right or left-handed carry and keeps the knife in your pocket in a tip-up configuration for ready deployment.
The Core can excel in a wide range of applications. It is small enough to carry every day and the open-backed construction makes it easy to keep clean. Outdoorsmen will also appreciate the large belly on the blade while on the hunt or roaming the woods.
Böhler N690 Steel
The cobalt-alloyed N690 by Böhler (not to be confused with the lower-grade N695) is a very reliable upper middle-grade steel Fox uses for a wide variety of projects. The fine-grained N690, which ranks above 440C, offers convincing performance data in all areas. It is often sold as N690Co – the "Co" stands for cobalt and describes the exact same steel.
